Spitfire Over Berlin
With less than 24 hours to prove that the American 8th Airforce is flying into a deadly trap, Flight Lieutenant Edward Barnes must fly his reconnaissance Spitfire alone and unarmed to the heart of the Nazi war machine…BERLIN! On the outward journey and with only a picture of his imaginary sweetheart, Georgie, for company, Edward witnesses the shocking deaths of a bomber crew when their stricken aircraft catches fire and plummets into sea. The experience opens old wounds for Edward, and we learn, through a series of flashbacks, that he once had a brother, David, who sacrificed his own life to save Edward’s during an aerial dog fight over Dunkirk. Edward hides the pain of his loss behind a resentful exterior.
