Cinebuzz On Demand is available on a variety of internet-connected devices, making it accessible anytime, anyplace!

How do I use Cinebuzz On Demand?

To use Cinebuzz On Demand, you need to be logged into your Cinebuzz account. If you’re not a member, you can sign up for a free Cinebuzz account here.

Is there a subscription fee?

Cinebuzz On Demand doesn’t require a paid subscription. You’ll pay as you go across our selection of movies to rent.

What are the benefits of Cinebuzz On Demand?

With Cinebuzz On Demand, you can rent movies anywhere, anytime, on your favourite device. You’ll also earn Cinebuzz rewards on every rental purchase, which can be used towards in-cinema rewards.

Is there a free trial period?

The good news is Cinebuzz On Demand doesn’t require a paid subscription! You’ll pay as you rent and purchase across our selection of movies.

Is there a Cinebuzz On Demand app?

Yes, download the Cinebuzz On Demand app to browse and watch content but don’t forget to first make your purchase via the Cinebuzz On Demand website.
For IOS devices: the app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store.
For Android devices: the app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

What devices does Cinebuzz On Demand support?

You can watch Cinebuzz On Demand on Windows or Mac computers, Android or iOS mobile and tablet devices.

What are the requirements for Windows computers?

Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer or Opera. We recommend using the latest version of your browser as earlier versions may not be supported. Internet Explorer on Windows 7 is no longer supported.

You will need Wi-Fi (broadband or fibre internet connection) — dial-up or cellular data will not work.


What are the requirements for Mac computers?

Can I watch on more that one computer/device at a time?

You can access content on up to five devices and you can only watch on one device at a time. If there is more than one device streaming the first device will stop streaming. To manage the connected devices simply click My Devices.

Can I watch content on my iPhone/iPad?

Yes, you can watch content using the Cinebuzz On Demand app. The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. Requires iOS 11.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.


Can I watch content on my Android Device?

Yes, you can watch content using the Cinebuzz On Demand app which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. The app requires Android 6.0 or later and allows you to stream content.


Can I download a movie onto my device to watch offline?

Keep that internet connected, as rental purchases can’t be downloaded or watched offline.

Can I watch content on Linux?

No, Linux is not supported.

What devices can I Chromecast from?

You can Chromecast from a Chrome web browser or from an Android device using the Cinebuzz On Demand Android app or from an iPad using the Cinebuzz On Demand iPad app.

How do I watch content using Chromecast from Chrome?

Make sure you have connected your Chromecast to your TV and Wi-Fi network then follow the steps below. Your computer must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast. For information or assistance connecting Chromecast to your TV and/or Wi-FI network, see support.google.com/chromecast.
1. In Chrome browser go to the film or TV page and start playing the content.
2. Select the Cast icon in the bottom right hand corner.
3. Select your Chromecast device.
4. The film or TV episode will now start playing on your Chromecast device.
Make sure you’re using the latest version of Chrome by navigating to Settings > About Google Chrome and update your Chrome browser to the latest version, if necessary. If you’re having trouble, here’s how to update Chrome.

Do I need to be a member of the Cinebuzz rewards program to access Cinebuzz On Demand?

Yes, to access Cinebuzz On Demand you must be a Cinebuzz Member. The good news is you can join online right now! To do so, simply click here. and follow the prompts. Once you have joined, you can use your login details for Cinebuzz On Demand.

What Rewards will I earn per rental?

VIP Members: For a limited time only, VIP Cinebuzz members can earn one Small Post-Mix Coke per week with any rental.

Regular Cinebuzz Members: For a limited time only, Cinebuzz members can earn one Small Post-Mix Coke per week with any rental.
Rewards will be loaded to the account signed into, so be sure to be signed into the correct account at the time of purchase.

What Rewards do I earn for registering to Cinebuzz On Demand?

VIP Members: For a limited time only, VIP Cinebuzz members earn 100 Cinebuzz points when first signing up to Cinebuzz On Demand.
Regular Cinebuzz Members: For a limited time only, Cinebuzz members earn 50 Cinebuzz points when first signing up to Cinebuzz On Demand.
Rewards will be loaded to the account signed into, so be sure to be signed into the correct account at the time of purchase.

When will my Rewards be loaded to my Cinebuzz account?

Reward Points: Have no fear if your points don’t appear as soon as you make your purchase! Reward points are earned for each Monday to Sunday period, and will be loaded on the following Monday. If the Monday or subsequent days are public holidays, there may be a delay in the loading of reward points. Your points balance can be viewed online here.
Food and Beverage Rewards: A maximum of one food and beverage reward per Cinebuzz account can be earned in each Monday to Sunday period. Food and beverage rewards will be loaded on the following Monday. If the Monday or subsequent days are public holidays, there may be a delay in the loading of food and beverage rewards. You have 12 months to redeem this reward. Please note that this reward cannot be redeemed online and must be redeemed in-cinema by presenting your Cinebuzz Membership Card to the Candy Bar. Can I use Cinebuzz Points to rent movies?

Points earned from Cinebuzz On Demand transactions can be used exclusively for in-cinema rewards.

Is my Cinebuzz account log in the same as Cinebuzz on demand?

That’s correct! We’re keeping things nice and easy. Use your Cinebuzz Account log in details to log into Cinebuzz On Demand.

How long does my rental period last for?

From the moment the movie begins, you have 48 hours on the clock until the rental period ends. We’ll even give you a count down clock!

How many times can I watch my rentals?

Watch as many times as you like during your rental timeframe.

Where can I find the movie I just rented?

All your active purchases will be located in your Cinebuzz On Demand Library.

I can’t remember when I started my rental, how do I know how long I have left?

We keep track of the time so you don’t have to. Click on the movie page to view your remaining time.

Can I pre-order a movie?

Pre-order is on pre-order (get it?). For the latest news and updates relating to pre-ordering, keep an eye on your account and Cinebuzz emails.

Can I request movies not listed on Cinebuzz on demand?

Unfortunately we’re not a DJ and won’t be taking requests at the moment. However, make sure you keep an eye on your inbox to keep up to date with the latest Cinebuzz news on new releases and what’s coming soon.

Is there a minimum age to access or sign up to Cinebuzz On Demand?

To access Cinebuzz On Demand you must first be a member of the Cinebuzz Rewards program. To be a Member of the general Cinebuzz Rewards program the applicant must be at least 15 years of age or older.

Can I rent a R 18+ rated movie?

Renting a movie on Cinebuzz On Demand is just like buying a ticket in cinema, the same movie classifications and restrictions apply.
Renting and watching R 18+ content is restricted to adults (18 years or older), as the content is deemed to be ‘high in impact’ and is classified by the Australian Classification Board.
Such material may contain classifiable elements such as sex scenes and drug use that are high in impact. Some material classified R18+ may be offensive to sections of the adult community.
A person may be asked for proof of their age before purchasing or viewing R18+ films.

The video quality of my movie isn’t very good, how do I fix this?

Cinebuzz On Demand offers HD and SD streaming quality. Even if you purchased a movie in HD, it will play in the highest quality that can be delivered to your device over your internet connection. So make sure your device supports HD streaming before you start your viewing experience.

What internet speed do I need to use Cinebuzz On Demand?

For the best viewing experience, we recommend an internet speed of 5Mbps.

I have an error message showing, who do I contact?

Error messages seems scary but can usually be resolved by one of the following methods: Clearing your internet cache Restarting your computer/device Or try watching your movie using a different device/browser If the error message persists, never fear for our tech experts are here to help! I’m having issues logging into my account, what do I do?

First check your internet connection and make sure your device is connected correctly. Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us.

Next, make sure your log in details are correct. You can can use your username or Cinebuzz number to log in. If you are looking for your membership number, its located underneath the barcode on your Cinebuzz Rewards card or on your Cinebuzz dashboard.

I can’t watch the films I have bought, what’s going on?

Check your minimum system requirements above. We recommend that you update to the latest version of your browser.
We use adaptive bitrate streaming which means the streaming quality will automatically adjust based on your internet speed. For High Definition (HD) streaming we recommend VDSL, cable or fibre connections as we cannot guarantee consistent HD streaming on ADSL.

What happens if I forget my password?

Simply click ‘Forgot your password?’ on the Sign In page, enter the email address you used when you created an account and a link to reset your password will be sent to you.

Why does playback of my film stall or not play smoothly?

If your internet connection is poor or inconsistent you may experience problems during playback.

What payment methods are available?

Only a valid credit card or debit card can be used to make a purchase.

Can I refund a Cinebuzz On Demand purchase?

Refunds or exchanges are not available if you:
[a] simply change your mind about Products you have purchased;
[b] have mistakenly purchased the wrong Product; or
[c] are unable to provide proof of purchase.
You may be entitled to certain statutory rights and guarantees to consumers that cannot be excluded, including those provided for under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any of your statutory rights as a consumer or Event’s liability for: (a) any breach of the obligations implied by law; or (b) any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

How do I rent a movie using the Cinebuzz On Demand app?

Purchases can only be made via the Cinebuzz On Demand website. The app is for viewing purchased content.

Can I use an Event Cinemas Gift Card to rent a movie?

Cinebuzz On Demand does not currently accept Event Cinemas Gift Cards or Vouchers. Best to keep those for your next visit to the cinema.

Are my Credit Card details secure?

We use a third party secure payment partner, Stripe who are committed to protecting your privacy whenever you buy goods or services from a merchant who uses Stripe. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification. Stripe’s privacy policy is here.
